Our commitment to community and charity
Protection Engineering Consultants recognizes its responsibility to extend the benefits of its success through charitable efforts both locally and in the greater community. While PEC staff members each contribute individually to charitable organizations and activities, together we designate a portion of our year-end profits to two organizations providing research and services to individuals and communities in need.
Engineers Without Borders-USA is a nonprofit humanitarian organization established to partner with developing communities worldwide to improve their quality of life. This partnership involves the implementation of sustainable engineering projects while involving and training internationally responsible engineers and engineering students. EWB-USA activities range from the construction of sustainable, community-owned and -operated systems to empowering such communities by enhancing local, technical, managerial and entrepreneurial skills.
The M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, has for 60 years built a worldwide reputation for excellence in cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. With a simple mission to eliminate cancer, they work to achieve that goal through integrated programs in cancer treatment, clinical trials, education programs and cancer prevention. Our interest in M.D. Anderson stems, in part, from the loss of a senior staff member’s loved one to cancer. Many of our clients receive holiday cards from Protection Engineering Consultants created by pediatric cancer patients as part of the M.D. Anderson Children’s Arts Project.
