Dripping Springs, Texas, Feb. 13 -- Kirk Marchand, managing principal of Protection Engineering Consultants, was co-presenter of "Steel Member Design for Direct Blast Loads" at the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) North American Steel Construction Conference Feb. 10 in San Antonio.
Marchand presented the convention session, which highlighted recent research undertaken to improve blast design techniques for steel structures, with Robert Smilowitz of Weidlinger Associates, New York.
