Bazan, Alberson join
Protection Engineering Consultants
Austin, Texas, October 20 -- Protection Engineering Consultants today announced the recent additions of two new members to its staff.
Dr. Marlon Bazan joined Protection Engineering Consultants as Project Engineer in February 2009. He provides support on various research and design projects, including blast analysis and design of walls and window systems for various DOD and GSA building projects. His fields of interest and expertise include nonlinear static and dynamic analysis of structures, progressive collapse analysis and design, structural testing, as well as structural reliability and probabilistic methods.
Dr. Bazan earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the National University of Engineering (Lima, Peru) and a Master of Science degree and doctorate in structural engineering from Northeastern University (Boston, Mass.), where he conducted experimental and analytical studies on the response of RC structures following the loss of load-bearing elements. His research and dissertation focused on the development of compressive and tensile membrane actions of reinforced concrete beams bridging over removed columns.
Ryan Alberson joined Protection Engineering Consultants as Associate Engineer in June 2009. He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in civil engineering from Texas A&M University. Skilled in model development for LSDYNA analysis, he is actively involved in blast-resistant design and evaluation of existing structures for vulnerability to progressive collapse for Protection Engineering Consultants' DoD and GSA clients.
