John M. H. Puryear, Associate Engineer
John Puryear provides research, structural analysis and design and testing support for various PEC projects.
John designed and supervised the fabrication and construction of test structures used in blast tests of retrofitted CMU walls for a commercial sponsor. He also supports recent research efforts for development of controlled release panels for blast applications and in evaluation of candidate systems for pipeline protection. He has supported DoD and DTRA efforts in the development of updated progressive collapse criteria through assessment of the post-blast performance of steel connections. John earned a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas in 2007.
