Marlon Bazan, Project Engineer

Marlon BazanDr. Marlon Bazan joined Protection Engineering Consultants as Project Engineer in February 2009. He provides support on various research and design projects, including blast analysis and design of walls and window systems for various DOD and GSA building projects. His fields of interest and expertise include nonlinear static and dynamic analysis of structures, progressive collapse analysis and design, structural testing, as well as structural reliability and probabilistic methods.

Marlon earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the National University of Engineering (Lima, Peru) and a Master of Science degree and doctorate in Structural Engineering from Northeastern University (Boston, Mass.), where he conducted experimental and analytical studies on the response of RC structures following the loss of load-bearing elements. His research and dissertation focused on the development of compressive and tensile membrane actions of reinforced concrete beams bridging over removed columns.
