Protection Engineering Consultants (PEC) provided Anti-terrorism and Force Protection (ATFP) design services to Tetra Tech (Seattle Office) in support of the design of a 3-story, 6000 square meter (64,600 sf) permanent bachelor quarters (BQ) building. The primary gravity structural system consisted of 2-way RC slabs supported by ICF walls. The project needed to comply with the ATFP requirements of the UFC 4-010-01, as well as the USAFRICOM OPORD 08-10.

PEC services included, input during site layout design to ensure it provided adequate distance and clear zones, blast-resistant design of façade and structural elements, and nonlinear dynamic (NLD) Alternate Path (AP) analysis to resist progressive collapse (per UFC 4-023-03).
