Congratulations to the Absher Construction Co. and WJA Design Collaborative led design build-team on the DJC’s Building of the Year Award nomination. The Pierce County Readiness Center for the Washington National Guard at Camp Murray was recognized as first runner up in the Seattle area. We enjoyed working with the team to perform the anti-terrorism and force protection (ATFP) design. The ICF (insulated concrete form) walls work well for blast resistant design while providing sufficient anchorage capacity for window and doors. Check out all the winners here.
