Protection Engineering Consultants is pleased to congratulate Ed Conrath on his 10 year anniversary with the company! Ed joined as a Senior Principal and his leadership in protective design, criteria development, vulnerability assessment, and training has been key to our growth and success. In the intervening 10 years, he established PEC as one of the premier blast design and physical security firms in the world, mentoring numerous PEC employees, developing a cadre of loyal clients and expanding the breadth of business areas that PEC services. Ed is a key instructor in two of PEC’s short courses (Blast-Resistant Window Design and Blast-Resistant and Antiterrorism Design) and his reputation as a leader in these fields results full attendance. Ed is registered Professional Engineer (PE) and a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Concrete Institute (ACI), and ASTM International. Within ASTM, Ed has led and steered the development of several significant standards related to physical security, force protection and blast resistant design, including F2656 for vehicle barrier testing, F2248 for 3-second equivalent wind load for designing blast resistant glass, F1642 and F2912 for testing and specifying blast resistant glazing, and F2247 and F2927 for blast resistant door testing.
We commend Ed for his great service to this company and dedication to consistent high-quality work. We look forward to his continued leadership, wisdom, and comradery, in the years ahead.
