The Military Aspects of Blast and Shock (MABS) Symposia starts next week in Halifax, Canada.  MABS is an annual conference dedicated to blast and shock wave research and associated thermal effects.  This year, Sr. Principal Chuck Oswald, Ph.D., P.E. will be presenting a paper titled Prediction of Room Fill Pressures Caused by Blast Propagation of Internal Explosions through Failing Walls.  Sr. Engineer and Principal Aldo McKay, P.E., will be presenting two papers, titled Investigation of Conventionally Designed Steel Frame Structures’ Inherent Resistance to Lateral Blast Loading, Test 1 Results and SDOF Analysis Methodology for Blast Loading of Cold Formed Light-Gage Metal Roof Trusses.  Aldo will also be chairing the session on Target Response – Structural.  PEC Engineers Kirk Marchand P.E., Eddie O’Hare Ph.D., and Greg Rolater will be participating and attending sessions as well.  We hope to see you north of the border!
