Founding Senior Principal, Chuck Oswald is attending and presenting at the 17th International Symposium on the Interaction of the Effects of Munitions with Structures (17th ISIEMS) this week in Bad Neuenahr, Germany. His paper and presentation focus on the effects of internal explosions, titled “Comparison of Measured and Calculated Gas Pressure Histories”. The symposium is jointly sponsored by United States of America (organized by DTRA) and Germany (organized by Federal Office of Bundeswehr Infrastructure, Environmental Protection and Services, former Armed Forces Office) and addresses all aspects of the response of civil engineering structures and materials to explosive loading. Session topics range from characterizing blast and fragmentation loads from close-in & contact detonations, internal detonation, external above ground detonations, and buried charges to structural response & progressive collapse. Experimental validation and simulation of loads and component or structural response are also covered.
Please contact Chuck Oswald directly for more information on his paper on the effects of internal explosions. We look forward to seeing you there!
