2020 was actually a great year for PEC, as we welcomed Ben Giddens, a Senior Associate Engineer I, to our team.
Ben came to PEC from a career as a consultant in the commercial nuclear power industry. Ben’s background is interdisciplinary, spanning structural, chemical, and software engineering. His project experience includes analysis of fluid systems, rotordynamics, thermal transients, and structural systems subject to both conventional and extreme loading conditions.
Ben specializes in the development and application of finite volume analysis software for fluid dynamics. He led a team managing a first-principles solver code, which he used to develop models for industrial process simulation and transient analysis. Ben modeled events such as condensation waterhammer, pump startup, air void effects, and spurious valve actuation.
Ben received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin with highest honors.
At PEC, Ben supports the Advanced Technology + Research group with high-fidelity numerical analysis, engineering analytics, and engineering design.
Ben, we are thrilled to have you as a member of the PEC family!
